How Does the Mega Millions Work?
Mega Millions is a national lottery that you'll find throughout the United States. However, each state operates the lottery independently and the rules may vary by location. The California Mega Millions does not use the MEGAplier or other additional wagers.
To play you pick five numbers between 1 and 70 and one MEGA number that's between 1 and 25. If you want to randomize your Mega Millions numbers, you can also opt for the Quick Pick option. This offers a selection of randomly generated numbers. You can use Quick Pick for the first five numbers, just the MEGA number, or all six.
With a single slip, you can select up to five plays with your own numbers or up to ten plays using Quick Pick numbers.
How to Fill Out Your Slip
If you're writing on a paper slip, it's important to follow these guidelines:
• Use blue or black ink
• Write your numbers clearly
• Don't erase – use the VOID box if you make a mistake

• Sign the back of the ticket
• Keep your ticket in a safe place
